Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 20, 2026
This is a personal photography website. It's not an app, it doesn't have accounts, and it doesn't track you around the internet. Here's the full picture of what happens when you visit.
What we collect
Server access logs
Like virtually every web server, ours keeps access logs. Each request records your IP address, the page you visited, the timestamp, and your browser's user-agent string. These logs exist for server operations and security — diagnosing errors, spotting abuse, that sort of thing. They are not mined for analytics, shared with third parties, or used to build profiles. Logs are periodically rotated and deleted.
Analytics
Page views are counted by Simple Analytics, a privacy-friendly service that collects no personal data, sets no cookies, and does not track you across sites. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, the script respects it and skips the page view entirely. You can see exactly what we see — the dashboard is public.
That's it
No tracking pixels. No ad networks. No fingerprinting. No data is sold, shared, or handed to anyone.
Cookies
The portfolio site does not set any cookies for regular visitors. If you log into the admin area (which is just me), an authentication session cookie is set — it's httpOnly, secure, and expires after seven days.
Local storage
If you toggle between dark and light mode using the T shortcut, your preference is saved in your browser's local storage. This never leaves your device and is not sent to the server.
Blog comments
The journal at /blog is powered by Ghost. If you choose to leave a comment, Ghost will ask for your email address and set its own session cookies to manage your sign-in. Ghost's data handling is governed by Ghost's privacy policy. Commenting is entirely optional.
Maps
Some photo pages include a map showing where the image was taken. Maps are powered by Mapbox and load only when you choose to open the map — they are not loaded automatically. When the map loads, your browser makes requests directly to Mapbox's servers, which are subject to Mapbox's privacy policy.
