I’m a photographer and software designer based in Portland, Oregon. Born and raised in Germany, I have now called the U.S. west coast my home for 25 years.

I love making images with a story that create a connection between the viewer and the subject. Creating the image is only a small part of that creative process. Starting a dialog with the people that I photograph, hearing their stories, listening, making the camera less intimidating, and creating that connection is another essential part of what I do.

My work has been published or exhibited by:

  • Smithsonian Magazine

  • San Francisco Art Commission

  • Oakland Museum of California

  • Crain’s New York Business.

When I’m not working on software or commercial projects, you can find me with my camera in the streets, or music venues of Portland.

I’m a member of the American Society of Media Photographers.

The two digital cameras that I use most often, are my Fujifilm X-T3 and an Apple iPhone X s. For film photography projects I mainly use an Olympus XA and a Zenza Bronica S2 medium format camera.
