Alice loves living the houseless life. It is simple, close to nature, and mostly in solitude. She keeps her tent and surroundings neat, and tidy. Recently, someone stole her phone, so she is saving up for a new one.
This photo also made it through a couple of rounds of live judging in the Portrait category at PDX Squared. I couldn't hear the critique clearly over the PA, but I heard something about cropping.
Man, PDX Squared was an absolute blast. Twenty-four hours of shooting, 2 hours of sleep. I met some fantastic people along the way from all the excellent participants to the lovely people of the St. Johns neighborhood. It was indeed an unforgettable experience, and I learned so much as well.
This was one of two images that I submitted into the Documentary category — it made it through a couple of rounds of judging. Not a winner, but a winner for me.
