Reeder

If you asked me how I read my never ending stream of news and blogs around all the things that interest me, I’d answer with: NetNewsWire on the Mac and Reeder on iOS. Until today that is.

Silvio Rizzi, the creator of the beautifully designed Reeder apps for iOS has released an equally well made application for the Mac.

Just like its counterparts on the iPhone and iPad, Reeder on the Mac is a pleasure to use. The user interface has a solid fit and finish, is uncluttered, is pleasant looking, and is designed to allow one to move through the day’s news swiftly.

Reeder for Mac is available for $9.99 on the Mac App Store.

A new try at keeping a blog

I am not much of a writer. But as the saying goes: “Practice makes perfect.” So here is another try at creating a place where I can post my thoughts on topics that are of interest to me. Some of the topics that I will write about are:

Internet & Mobile Computing

I work on websites and iOS applications every day. Naturally I will write about these topics.

Running & Fitness

For more than 20 years, I have been in a love hate relationship with the sport of running. I will write about the ups and downs of my marathon training, race experiences, and related sports themes.

Urban Planning, Public Transportation & Large-scale Infrastructure

Thoughts on how to make our cities more livable. How public transportation and large scale infrastructure such as high-speed rail can improve our economy and productivity.

Aviation & Travel

If you tested my blood for Jet A-1 fuel, chances are that the result will come back positive. I have been in and around the aviation industry my entire life.

There still remains much to be done. From creating a fitting visual theme to establishing a writing style and voice that I feel comfortable with.
